CHRISTUS Southern New Mexico Bone & Joint is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon to join our premier multispecialty musculoskeletal team. This is a high-volume, mission-driven role designed for a surgeon who values clinical autonomy, a collaborative environment, and a balanced lifestyle in the beautiful Tularosa Basin. You will step into an established referral network with immediate surgical volume, supported by a Level III Trauma Center and a modern ambulatory surgery center.
As a key member of our orthopedic service line, you will provide comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care to a diverse patient population, including residents of Alamogordo, the Mescalero Apache communities, and Holloman Air Force Base families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a broad range of procedures including total joint replacements, arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, trauma/fracture care, and hand/upper extremity procedures.
- Evaluate and treat patients in a high-volume setting (approx. 4,000 visits/year) with a focus on evidence-based outcomes.
- Work alongside an integrated team of surgeons, six podiatrists, and advanced practice clinicians.
- Utilize Epic EMR across all settings and operate in an ASC equipped with up-to-date C-arm technology.
- Engage in occasional teaching opportunities for Family Medicine residents and contribute to the growth of the Southern New Mexico Bone & Joint clinics.
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD or DO).
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Eligible for an unrestricted New Mexico medical license.
- 3–5 years of experience is preferred, though exceptional early-career surgeons will be considered.
- Proficiency in general orthopedics, specifically joint replacement and fracture care.
