Banner University Medicine, in partnership with the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, is seeking an exceptional, fellowship-trained Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to inherit a mature, established practice. This unique private-public partnership offers the “best of both worlds”: a faculty appointment with dedicated teaching and research support, combined with the competitive compensation and physician ownership opportunities typically found only in private practice.

Job Description

Step into a thriving, turnkey hand and wrist practice vacated by an established community surgeon. This full-time (1.0 FTE) role balances structured clinic and surgical days, specializing in both elective and trauma hand surgical procedures.

You will perform surgeries across a versatile platform, utilizing both a cutting-edge main hospital and a brand-new, state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) at the Scottsdale Sports Medicine Center—specifically designed to support teaching and research with guaranteed protected block time.

As a faculty member, you will deeply engage in the education and mentorship of 20 Orthopedic Residents and medical students. Furthermore, you will actively participate as faculty in an integrated Hand Fellowship program that trains two fellows per year, backed by robust, dedicated research support from the University of Arizona.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Fellowship in Hand Surgery.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hand Surgery (via Orthopedics or Plastic Surgery).
  • Competence in managing a comprehensive mix of complex elective and trauma upper extremity cases.
  • A strong passion for clinical teaching, resident/fellow mentorship, and contributing to clinical research.

Compensation & Benefits

Banner Health offers a highly competitive market-tailored compensation and a comprehensive premium benefits package:

  • Competitive base salary aligned with the Phoenix private practice market, plus performance-driven incentives.
  • Generous sign-on bonus and full relocation assistance.
  • Comprehensive malpractice coverage, including full tail coverage.
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) package alongside dedicated Continuing Medical Education (CME) time and allowances.
  • Secure retirement planning with a 401(k) plan featuring employer matching, alongside a 457(b) deferred compensation plan.
  • Robust medical, dental, and vision insurance options for you and your dependents.
